Short Trips – Trek's Walkabout

Continuing on for my few days away for our anniversary. I left Lakeview and went to Kumback Kamping at Brooloo, Qld. Which is about 15km north of Kenilworth.

You have to be completely self sufficient, no toilets, showers, take your rubbish out with you.

There is a creek which was a little chiller than the lake at Lakeview. Didn’t bother Jess though.

Sites were huge and private, lovely green grass and plenty of shade. Some had great creek access.

There are also some sites across the creek. With a seat to take a break.

I’ve done a video showing all the sites to give people a good idea of what they are like if you wanted to visit yourself. Really it was the best way to capture everything Kumbak Kamping has to offer.

It’s amazing, great big sites suitable for groups or those just wanting a quiet escape.

Next planned trip is a big one, the Nullarbor.

Every wedding anniversary, Chris and I would go away for a few days, week or longer. This year was planned to be no different, with a few days away. It was a big one our 40th. Due to Chris’s health issues we had planned to bring it forward 6 months. Unfortunately he didn’t make it to that time.

I decided I was still going to honour that special date and go away for a few days. Solo. Not on the date but a week or so before.

Keeping it local I went to Lakeview at Beachmere, a Hipcamp. I got a site that was back off the lake, but still had a perfect view and huge site.

First I stopped in Beachmere and had a walk around. Amazing painted water tower.

Then I headed to Lakeview which is just out of town. A great space with a playground, waterslide, camp kitchen, pontoon, and swimming in the lake. Which Jess and I both took advantage of.
